mkorbit.de: Hier ist der Name Programm! Es geht um Dub und dass sich die Tuba von einer schönen Frau halten lässt, hat seinen Grund. Mit mächtigen, druckvollen Hörnern und Space-Gitarre steigt Dub One! ein. Dazu gesellen sich noch Reggae-Grooves und zarte Salsa Rhytmen und auch wenn sich das jetzt merkwürdig liest klingt es extrem gut. Mit dem letzten Track erreicht die Blow Dubs EP ihren Höhepunkt und entlädt sich in einem Reggae-Dub-Big-Beat-Feuerwerk – man soll ja aufhören, wenn es am schönsten ist ;-) Sollte meiner Meinung nach in keiner MP3-Sammlung fehlen!

Liquid Love Forum: Neben Broque ist iD.Eology Records aus Köln ein Label was immer wieder hier bei den Tips auftaucht - diese Woche waren die Macher von iD.Eology so nett & haben direkt mal zwei EPs Online gestellt - Musikalisch sind beide EPs komplett verschieden , aber beide sind auch verdammt gut.

Nummer 65 kommt von Dub One! & Musikalisch gibt es eine Mischung aus Downbeat , Trip Hop , etwas Reagge gewürzt mit einer dicken Brise Salsa - klingt jetzt wie eine ziemlich verrückte Mixtur doch spätestens wenn "Salsa in Dub" mit seiner schönen Akustischen Gitarre kommt liebt man diese EP - versprochen.(...) Alles in allen: Zwei EPs die es mehr als verdient haben gehört zu werden - und auch die schönen Covers zum selberbasteln sind eine Erwähnung wert.

Blogrebellen: Ja, es geht um Sex, auralen Sex. Es geht um die schmutzigen Phantasien des Berliners Dub One!, die er mit seiner neuen "Blow Dubs EP" kraftvoll, frivol, deep & dirty umsetzte. Schon seine erste Veröffentlichung auf iD.EOLOGY, die er damals noch zusammen Authist produzierte begeisterte mich damals so sehr, dass ich mehrere Titel im meinem Urban Netaudio Mixtape verbratete. Seine erste Solo-EP "Dubplates from the Madhouse" wurde 2008 veröffentlicht und war eine Mischung aus "Reggae und Dub, die sich mit Jazz und Hiphop zu einer gemeinsamen Sitar-Jam trafen". Und genau hier knüpft Dub One! bei seiner zweiten Solo EP an: "Nach einem stürmischen und erregenden Einstieg mit wildem Space-Funk Dub übernehmen üppige Reggae Grooves die Führung und begeben sich südwärts, um die unteren Körperregionen nach allen Regeln der Kunst zu verwöhnen."

Netlabelism: Berlin's Dub One! returns with a varied and genre-bending new solo EP on the iD.EOLOGY label. The EP opens with some jittery twitches, and transitions into a skanking good groove called "Massive Dub Job", before settling into a slower, trip-hoppy "Yoni Yogi Dub" that leaves you completely relaxed, like any good massage. Track three is an excellent spacey remix of Jambassa's "Them Never Love The Flowers" which leads into a flamenco and piano spiced "Salsa In Dub". The EP ends with "Soundbwoys Shot", which is like an audioscape of the city at night, infused with swirling brass notes and the sound of an accordion drifting on the breeze. It's clear that Dub One! is exploring jazz, jazz-rock and funk in this release, as well as the dub and trip-hop that you get with his early releases in conjunction with Authist. He says "this e.p. will not only stimulate your loins and brains but also affect your hearts and souls, it will in fact be just as fulfilling and satisfying as good sex. Aural sex, that is." Will it give you a happy ending? You bet!

Act of Silence: iD.EOLOGY released this new EP, Blow Dubs by Dub One! which is an extremely fun record. Blow Dubs leans more toward a move your ass album than a sit on your couch getting high while watching cartoons and listening to dub kind of a record, though if that's how you choose to listen to it, you'd hear no complaints from me. German artist Peter Seifert aka Dub One! does a fantastic job of melding various styles of music into six tracks of glorious dub. One way the ways I can tell if I like an album is if I go and download other work by the artist, which is exactly what I did after listening to Blow Dubs a few times. If you like this, you might want to try Dub One!'s 2009 release, Dubplates from the Madhouse (iD.EOLOGY).

79Records:  Once again the iDEOLOGY label brings us another pearl, this time in a dub form. Dub One! is a Berlin based producer, hes release "Dubplates from the Madhouse" is a melting pot of musical influences geniously produced and mixed to perfection. We cant get enough of it and every time we find something different that catches our ears, it just hits you with enormous quality in every track. Blast this release at maximum volume, let your neighbours know about it.

Free Albums Galore:  Dub One! has a unique global sense of musical madness. The five tracks on Dubplates From The Madhouse orignates from Berlin but teems with the sound of Jamaica. Hip-Hop, Techno and Reggae are shaken not stirred into a mesmerizing soundscape. “Jack Pot” and “Odd Man’s Planet Dub” turn out mellow and urban funky at the same time. However my favorite track is the raga/reggae “Sitar Sensi”, a hip-hop global contender if I ever heard one. Dub albums are usually not something I listen to regularly but this one may stay in the Ipod for quite a while.

Catching the Waves:  The first sound on this five-track EP is a cool double bass, then a cooler dusty beat. Hmm, so Jack's Pot (Radio Edit) is trip-hop, surely? But no, here's a pulsing organ and swelling horns. Sit back and enjoy dub delirium. Rather appropriate for something from a madhouse.

A minute in to Odd Man's Planet Dub and what was an exemplary dub track gets a bespoke, crackly trip-hop drum beat that elicits a Neanderthal grunt of satisfaction from CTW. Play this (not the grunt) to your friends and watch their jaws drop when you tell them that you got it for free without resorting to a balaclava and sawn-off shotgun. Your friends may scoff at your claim, but you will remain calm and untroubled because your inner soundtrack is set to "trip-hop", permitting your yin and yang to enact a slow-motion duel between sitar and guitar. Satisfaction ensues. You've just been levitated by the Sitar Sensi (2007 Jah Crazy Edit).
